Welcome to the QuickTransit Virtual Appliance

Welcome to the QuickTransit Virtual Appliance, where you can experience the benefits of cross-platform virtualization without any setup or configuration.

This QuickTransit Virtual Appliance includes a Novell SUSE Enterprise Linux Server (SLES) 10 guest operating system and a copy of QuickTransit for Solaris/SPARC-to-Linux/x86-64 pre-installed. The virtual appliance is a pre-built virtual machine in the VMware format that can be used to run internally-developed, open source or commercial Solaris/SPARC applications for evaluation purposes prior to purchase and production deployment of QuickTransit.

The QuickTransit Virtual Appliance has received Certified Virtual Appliance accreditation from VMware, and is listed in the VMware Virtual Appliance Marketplace.

Getting started

A number of SPARC/Solaris applications are installed on the QuickTransit Virtual Appliance for immediate use, including:

• Solaris/SPARC Opera - the web browser that you're using now.
• Solaris/SPARC Scilab - the powerful numerical package.
• Solaris/SPARC Shell - direct access to a SPARC terminal.

To launch these applications, click the icon on the Virtual Appliance desktop.
