Transitive® Technology to Expand Software Ecosystems for IBM Servers

QuickTransit® Software to Enable Applications Written for Other Platforms to Run on Selected IBM Servers

LINUXWORLD, San Francisco, Calif. – August 15, 2006 – Transitive® Corporation, the leading provider of software that enables transportability of applications across multiple processor and operating system (OS) pairs, today announced it signed a deal with IBM to apply their technology to allow many Linux applications written for the x86 architecture to run on selected IBM servers. The relationship is focused on enhancing the server software ecosystem and accelerating customer migration to selected IBM server products. Transitive’s technology is designed to allow software applications written for one architecture to run on another without source code or binary changes, which makes an ISV’s task of supporting multiple server architectures much easier.

“The strength of the software ecosystem that surrounds a server is vital to its success in the marketplace,” said Bob Wiederhold, President, and CEO of Transitive Corporation.  “Our QuickTransit technology instantly enhances the software ecosystem of any server by allowing thousands of additional applications to run without source code or binary changes. We are happy to be working with one of the top server companies in the world to deliver this technology to the marketplace.”

“Our goal is to make it as easy as possible for customers to migrate to IBM servers, and this technology helps us to meet that goal,” said Richard Warren, vice president of Development IBM IS & TG ISV Global Solutions Enablement.

As part of the relationship, IBM will provide access to key engineering resources to facilitate the enablement of QuickTransit software for selected IBM servers.  The two companies anticipate that solutions will be available for customers early in 2007.

About Transitive Corporation
Transitive Corporation is a pioneer and leader in providing solutions that allow the transportability of software applications across multiple hardware platforms.
