Transitive® Expands Beta Release for QuickTransit® Virtualization Software for Solaris™/SPARC®-to-Linux®/Xeon® Migration

Final Beta Release Supports Demand for Early Ramp from More Customers; Demonstration by Networld, Leading Japanese IT Solutions Distributor

LOS GATOS, Calif. and TOKYO, Japan – September 20, 2006 – Transitive® Corporation, the leading provider of software that enables transportability of applications across multiple processor and operating system (OS) pairs, today announced that it has released a final beta version of its QuickTransit® virtualization software that allows Solaris™/SPARC® applications to run on servers that use the Linux® OS and Intel Xeon® processor.  The applications can run on the new platforms without requiring any source code or binary changes.  Networld Corporation, appointed in July as Transitive’s first distribution partner for Japan, will demonstrate the final beta version at its VMware® Day event on September 22, 2006 in Osaka.  This expanded-beta version incorporates recent refinements and customer feedback, and is the final pre-production version.  Shipment of Release 1.0 will follow in November 2006.

“Transitive is responding to the extensive interest that has built from our June announcement by expanding the beta distribution base of QuickTransit for Solaris/SPARC-to-Linux/Xeon,” said Steven Mih, Vice President Worldwide Sales at Transitive.  “By making the final beta version available now, including the refinements to date, we can enable more early adopters to ramp up, pending shipment of Release 1.0.”

“Networld has extensive expertise with virtualization solutions focused on VMware,” said Shoichi Morita, Managing Director and Marketing General Manager of Networld.  “QuickTransit enables Instruction Set Architecture Virtualization, so with this synergistic level of virtualization we can now consolidate RISC workloads across operating systems into a fully virtualized VMware environment on new servers.”
