Transitive Appoints Ian Robinson Vice President of MarketingExperienced Software Marketer Joins Virtualization Software Leader LOS GATOS, Calif., – October 18, 2006 – Transitive® Corporation, the leading provider of software that enables transportability of applications across multiple processor and operating system (OS) pairs, today announced that it has appointed Ian Robinson to serve as vice president of Marketing. Robinson, a broadly experienced executive with expertise in virtualization, enterprise software and publishing, will lead the marketing efforts for Transitive and its QuickTransit® products to carry out the company mission of “every software application running on every hardware platform.” “Ian Robinson joins the Transitive team at a critical time, just as our products are hitting the enterprise data center marketplace,” said Bob Wiederhold, president and CEO of Transitive. “His deep experience with both the development and deployment of popular virtualization solutions and enterprise IT purchasers is perfectly aligned with our initiatives to make rapid, easy application migration a mainstream process for data center managers, OEMs, ISVs and IT services companies.” “QuickTransit offers a unique solution to platform transportability, and is a perfect fit with popular virtualization solutions,” said Ian Robinson, vice president of Marketing for Transitive. “For the first time, enterprise data center managers can now broaden the scope of their server consolidation initiatives to include legacy applications running on proprietary RISC-based hardware, by using QuickTransit for fast and easy migrations to the latest industry-standard platforms.” Prior to joining Transitive, Robinson was director of Solutions Marketing for VMware, Inc. Previous positions included vice president, Portal & Reporting Products, Brio Software, Inc.; director of Enterprise Products, Zone Labs, Inc.; director of Product Management, Starfish Software, Inc.; and senior product manager (Delphi), Borland International, Inc. Prior to moving into management roles in the software industry Robinson was a software developer and technology editor, holding senior editorial positions at several major Australian publications including PC Week. He earned an M.S. degree in Information Systems from the University of San Francisco (USF) and a B.A in Management from Saint Mary’s College of California.
